Nemours is seeking a Clinical Dietitian,Part Time, to join our team in Pensacola, Florida.
With clinic locations in Pensacola and Destin, Fla., Nemours provides pediatric specialty care to children and families in northwest Florida and southern Alabama. We offer comprehensive, family-centered care in more than 30 pediatric specialties with several of our physicians regularly named among the “Best Doctors in America®.
This position serves as a nutrition consultant in the outpatient setting
Functions as a nutrition consultant, completing nutrition referrals from Nemours physicians.
Demonstrates skills necessary to complete nutritional assessments and care plans by displaying knowledge of expected growth and development appropriate for the patient’s age, sex, social/ethnic background and disease entity.
Displays knowledge of calculating specialized formula recipes and meal plans, as well as composition/classification of infant and pediatric formulas
Develops and implements nutritional care plans based on documented nutritional assessments which encompasses data pertaining to diet history, expected growth, cultural/ethnic background, and disease specific requirements.
Communicates nutritional assessments, counseling reports, and care plans to referring physicians and other healthcare providers through medical record documentation system
Interacts and coordinates nutritional care of clinic patients with physicians and other health care providers
Participates in division team rounds as necessary
Continually updates knowledge recommended for nutritional therapies pertaining to specific disease entities.
Selects, develops and continually updates nutrition education materials
Participates in the education of residents and staff members
Serves as a reference for community nutrition questions
Participates in data retrieval and analysis and coordination with ADA (American Diabetes Association) Recognition Program
Fulfills continuing education requirements by ADA Recognition Program
Remains knowledgeable of healthcare regulations
Complies with HIPPA Regulations
Complies with OSHA/Safety Regulations
Adheres to NCC-P Customer Service Standards of Performance
Bachelors degree required
State of Florida Dietitian License (LD/N) required
Commission on dietetic registration within 90 days of hire required
CDE preferred. If non-CDE will complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing education each year in diabetes related field
Minimum of 1 year experience required; clinical education or internship experience may fulfill requirement
