M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for an RN at the M Health Fairview Endocrine Clinic located on the St. John's Campus in Maplewood, MN.
This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening.
Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM to 4:30PM
This role will support 3 Endocrinology providers and will serve as back-up for Infectious Disease and Rheumatology providers.
The RN - Endocrine Clinic is responsible for delivery of professional, quality, and compassionate patient care. Assists clinicians in patient readiness for procedures and education. Carries out assigned nursing tasks and medical orders as delegated by clinicians or designee to support patient care. Serves as a positive role model to clinical support staff.
* Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards. * Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. * Prepares patients for examinations and procedures, prepares and administers medications and injections, performs and assists with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician. * Processes prescription refill requests while adhering to established clinic protocols for electronic refill requests. Partners with clinician(s) utilizing standard work flows to provide patient care. Returns phone calls according to established protocols. * Provides pre and post procedural recovery care for patients including patients that have had procedural sedation. * Demonstrates clinical competence in using the nursing process to provide care to patients and their families. Contributes to the achievement of patient outcomes (safety, cost, quality, satisfaction, engagement) by working collaboratively. Triages patient problems and direct care appropriately. * Assists with and/or performs, monitors and schedules quality assurance and quality control data and testing as required by established standards. Promotes and complies with established patient safety, laboratory safety and infection control policies. * Maintains an updated complete and organized supply of patient education materials. Provides patient information/education materials as directed by the clinician. Promotes patient/family understanding of educational content and his/her involvement in the plan of care. * Accurately documents patient information in the electronic health record in a timely fashion. Shares pertinent patient information with appropriate members of the health care team.
1 year registered nursing experience required.
Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
RN Licensure MN Board of Nursing
Basic phlebotomy, injection and IV administration skills.
Nursing experience in a clinic, hospital or procedural setting preferred. Experience working with renal care patients preferred.
