Summary: Duke Primary Care Henderson Family Medicine is seeking an intuitive, flexible and talented nurse manager with strong management skills, able to multi-task and problem solve with tact and diplomacy and strong leadership to manage the clinic effortlessly.
Primary Care Services-Henderson-Based Primary Care Physicians
Duke Primary Care Henderson's health care team includes family doctors, internal medicine doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who specialize in providing medical care for children, teens and adults.
Internal Medicine and General Family Medicine for Adults
- Annual physical exams, check-ups and health screenings
- Preventative care and diagnostics
- Smoking cessation
- Sick visits for acute illnesses like flu, cold, sinus infections and sore throats
- Immunizations, including annual flu shots
- Chronic illness management, including high blood pressure and high cholesterol
- Women's health care and gynecological screenings, including PAP smears and breast exams
- Lab tests and X-rays
Pediatric Clinic for Infants, Children and Adolescents
- Well-child care, routine check-ups and sick visits
- Annual physicals, school physicals and sports physicals
- Immunizations, including newborn and school-age vaccinations, and annual flu shots for children over six months
- Hearing, vision and developmental screenings
- Ongoing care for conditions such as allergies, asthma and diabetes

As Nurse Manager, you will:
Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a Duke Primary Care Henderson, NC Clinic
Plan, develop, implement and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs and activities
Perform and manage multi-specialty nursing services with patients, families, staff
Perform other related duties incidental to the work resolution clinic
Manage personnel actions including orientation, performance appraisals, promotions and scheduling; counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical team
Collaborate in the development, implementation and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development
Analyze, develop and maintain effective and efficient nursing care delivery system that reflects patient and family needs across the continuum; achieve desired outcomes
Promote education for patients, families and the community; participate in direct patient care activities for role modeling or information gathering
Collaborate with nursing colleagues in ambulatory care to promote optimal utilization of nursing resources among the various clinics
Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate level of equipment and supplies and monitors equipment maintenance
Assess the environment and make re commendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety and compliance with various regulatory bodies (OSHA, JCAHO, etc.)
Collaborate w/Health Center Administrator/Nurse Manager to determine fiscal requirements; submit budgetary recommendations for nursing personnel and patient care materials
Cultivate exemplary customer service throughout the organization; promote effective communication skills with the ability to problem solve with assertiveness, support team members, provide feedback, and active listening
Develop and implement processes to enhance clinic operations and practices for ongoing quality improvement
Develop, document, implement and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory health care site mission settlement and objectives
Manage clinic in the absence of HealthCare Administrator/Practice Manager; available for on-call emergencies involving the facility, staff members

Minimum Qualifications
Education-Bachelor's degree in Nursing, required. Master's degree in Nursing, strongly preferred
Experience-Three years of nursing experience is required
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BCLS certification required
Nurses hired into leadership positions must obtain a leadership certification within three months of hire
New nurse leaders who are ineligible to sit for an exam because they have not been working in a leadership role for the minimum amount of time required must complete their certification within three months of becoming eligible
