This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The RN in the Emergency Department (ED) located in the Inpatient and Emergency Services Division (IESD), VA Portland HCS. The ED is a Level II facility providing urgent and emergency care to eligible Veterans. Staff provides triage and nursing care for a patient population which includes: cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, diabetes, substance abuse, psychiatric and minor trauma. The RN is accountable as a primary nurse for a defined group of patients for the entire episode of care. Based on education and experiences, may be assigned responsibility as a preceptor, charge nurse or unit shift leader.
