AdventHealth Heart of Florida is a licensed 193-bed acute care hospital, coupled with outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community for over 50 years.

Located in Davenport, FL., which is close to major destinations, like Busch Gardens, Legoland, and Walt Disney World, without being located in the central hub of tourism.
The role you’ll contribute:
The Hospital EMS Specialist, which will report to the Physician Relations Team with local reporting to the hospital ER Director is responsible for key tactical and operational enhancements for EMS services. In order to maximize growth opportunities, the position may be filled by an experienced paramedic that is familiar with both cultural and operational needs of EMS leadership and crews.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
1. Responsible for planning and implementing visits to EMS stations, meeting with paramedics/EMT’s and working with Emergency Room staff to grow EMS runs.
2. Maintainin a minimum number of visits with EMS crews on a weekly basis.
3. Directly coordinate strategic efforts with Regional EMS Relations Reprentative and ER Director to ensure division and hospital goals are being met.
4. Provide ongoing clinical and operations feedback to EMS crews (i.e. STEMI and comprehensive stroke process review) and daily communication with fire stations and EMS crews
5. Focus on ensuring offload times are in line with hospital and EMS goals
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and public speaking (platform skills)
Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships and loyalty to the hospital as well as develop new referral sources
Understanding of EMS and/or Emergency Department processes
Demonstrate initiative, poise, confidence and willingness to accept challenges.
Ability to travel between hospital and EMS locations.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the position
Must possess good time management skills and be customer and results-oriented.
Familiarity with hospital operations, language and roles.
Ability to verbally articulate service line and product attributes
Ability to conceptualize and generate sales within a fluid environment, with particular skill in identifying and setting priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with EMS, employees, allied health providers and healthcare leadership.
Ability to represent AdventHealth mission to customers and the public.
Demonstrated effective writing ability.
Knowledge of the hospital sales industry.
Ability to use or learn customer relationship management software
Self-directed with an ability to oversee multiple projects/activities simultaneously.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associate in Science in Emergency Medical Services or equivalent
Minimum of two years of related experience (nursing, paramedic, business-related field)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
3+ years of related experience (nursing, paramedic, business-related field)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing, paramedics, business or health sciences
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Valid Florida driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance to include liability and property damage coverage
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
Current valid State of Florida license as an EMT, Paramedic, or RN
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
