The role you’ll contribute:
The Pre-Admit Technician is responsible for welcoming guests/patients/physicians to the unit as well as direct/indirect patient care. S/he is accountable for performing a variety of clerical/clinical tasks related to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units and coordinating work within the unit as well as with other departments.
The Pre-Admit Tech is responsible for acting as a role model for the mission, and patient promise of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of regulatory standards, established policies, protocols, and procedures.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Coordinates effectively the maintenance of the physical environment (i.e. maintains supplies work order completion, etc)
Proactively maintain/ensure that nurses’ station is organized, clean, and de-cluttered.
Perform various clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing unit
Answers the telephone in a professional manner; direct calls to appropriate individuals, and relay messages
Assist RN’s as needed with patient care.
Schedules surgical patient appointments and procedures.
Draws blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
Records phlebotomy requisitions in logbook.
Labels and records all test tubes, logs procedures, files paperwork.
Cleans and supplies venipuncture trays. Maintains work areas. Orders supplies when needed.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
High school graduate
Training in the proper procedure in the performance of venipuncture, skin punctures, and the performance of electrocardiogram
Current American Heart Association BLS certification
Current certification for Medical Assistant; Patient Care Technician or Phlebotomy certification preferred.
