Responsibilities
This Accounting Manager will oversee month-end close activities as well as balance sheet account reconciliations, account activity analysis and related journal entries. Reporting to a senior manager of accounting, the successful candidate will supervise and own a variety of month-end and quarter-end accounting processes. This position requires a person who performs at a high level of accuracy and efficiency, is well organized, and demonstrates ownership and initiative to accomplish goals. In this role, you will be expected to be a key contributor and have exposure to all levels within the organization.
Prepare, review, and verify journal entries, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions. Primary responsibility for lease accounting, benefits accounting as well as other month-end close processes.
Prepare and review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Develop analysis and reports as required.
Review and explain financial statement related fluctuations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
Support the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
Supervise staff in gathering all necessary supporting documentation to produce monthly reporting.
Ensure monthly financial statements are produced in a timely and accurate manner, including adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
Contribute to the development of company accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance with approved policies. Review and streamline processes when appropriate.
Provide guidance, training and leadership to direct reports and other associates.
Participate in preparing support for disclosures in 10K and 10Q filings.
Assist with preparing information for the outside auditors on a quarterly and annual basis.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Education Required: B.S. in Accounting. CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in public accounting or 7 years combined experience in public and corporate accounting
