Unit Highlights The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at AdventHealth for Children provides specialized comprehensive care for infants and children that require continuous monitoring.  The PICU offers 22 critical care beds that are all centrally monitored.  Children who come to the PICU often have significant breathing problems, heart defects, complications from diabetes or injuries sustained from non-accidental traumas. Our caregivers are trained to deal specifically with these critical cases. Our physicians are board certified pediatric intensivists and are available on the unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Procedures and treatments available within the unit for our critical pediatric patients include endotracheal intubations, CVL insertions and management, lumbar punctures, exchange transfusions, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, blood product administration, ECMO, hemodialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, surgical procedures, and advanced respiratory therapy including nitric oxide. Unit Highlights Our Emergency Department (ED) is in one of the fastest-growing communities in Polk County. The unit consists of 26 monitored beds, a trauma/resuscitation room, dedicated CT and Imaging rooms, and is an accredited stroke center and Chest Pain Center. We see over 50,000 patients each year, serving all age groups with the best in community-based acute, medical and surgical care. The department also utilizes LEAN principles to promote safe and efficient throughput. Our ED is also provides a clinical training environment for Nurses and Paramedics. In addition to our Main ED, we also have a separate 10 bed Off Site ED located approximately 15 miles north in the Four Corners area.   Work Hours/Shift: Full Time Nights, 7p-7a, Weekend Rotation Required *$15,000 Sign-on Bonus and $3,000 Relocation available for eligible candidates (see terms below) **Immediate Benefits Sign-on Eligibility: Applicable experience required.
