DescriptionA postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available immediately in
Dr. Mattia Quattrocelli's laboratory in the Division of Molecular Cardiovascular Biology in the Heart Institute. The Quattrocelli lab investigates the interplay between metabolic, circadian and epigenetic mechanisms to govern pharmacology and physiology of cardiovascular disease and skeletal muscle disorders. We are expanding our research interest from basic mechanisms of striated muscle function to complex disease contexts like aging, diabetes, heart failure and muscle wasting. Moreover, we are interested in linking functional outcomes to the crosstalk between striated muscle cells and other cells or tissues of relevance, such as adipose tissue, liver, immune cells, etc. The studies in our lab routinely use multidisciplinary combinations of transgenic mice, omics datasets, metabolic assays, circadian modulation, in vitro/ex vivo isotope tracing, primary cell lines and human induced pluripotent stem cells. The laboratory is committed to support postdoctoral fellows in any career aspirations (academia, industry, etc.).
Recent publications from the lab:
1) Wintzinger et al, Impact of circadian time of dosing on cardiomyocyte-autonomous effects of glucocorticoids, Mol Metab. 2022.
2) Quattrocelli et al, Intermittent prednisone treatment in mice promotes exercise tolerance in obesity through adiponectin. J Exp Med. 2022.
