Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Oncologist to help grow the surgical oncology program at Carle Health and the Carle Cancer Institute in Urbana, Illinois. This position will be 80% clinical and 20% academic/research.
The candidate would practice at Carle Foundation Hospital in a multi-disciplinary setting with a weekly Upper GI Tumor Board, outpatient clinics at Carle Cancer Institute in Urbana and strong support from Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Advanced GI Endoscopy and Interventional Radiology with an opportunity for multidisciplinary collaboration for management of liver cancers. The position would also be supported for call coverage from Carle General Surgery Service at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Qualificationsand Expectations:
Must be an MD/DO, be BC in Surgery and be fellowship-trained in surgical oncology.
Interest in upper GI malignancies (pancreas, biliary tract, liver and stomach) and soft tissue sarcomas.
Minimum 5 years post-training surgical oncology fellowship experience with focus on upper GI malignancies, including the Whipple procedure and liver resections.
Interest in teaching general surgery residents in the clinic, hospital setting, and operating room. Interest in teaching medical students.
Reasonable participation in general surgery call schedule in exchange for general surgery service support for surgical oncology program on weekends and when surgical oncologist is off.
Faculty appointment at Carle Illinois College of Medicine with faculty appointment level commensurate with experience.
