Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• Basic working knowledge with Medicare, Medicare Replacements and Commercial Insurance companies, Medicare Advantage plans.
• Strong time management, follow-up skills and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of appeals processes
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and take direction
• Understand Microsoft Office Software; including Word and Excel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• REQUIRED 3 or more years of medical collections experience
• PREFERRED 2 or more years of Nextgen experience

Job Duties:

• Collection of outstanding claims from a monthly Accounts Receivable report
• Ability to work with insurance companies to help collect payments
• Follow up on previous corrected claims and appeals
• Obtain retro authorizations and referrals when applicable
• Review monthly Accounts Receivable report at month end to identify trends or changes to provide feedback on billing process with management
• Work on special projects as needed
• Assist patients with billing questions
• Cross train to assist in other positions as needed.
